My Winter Holiday

On Thursday our winter holiday begun. We always get two winter holidays at my school, one in November and one in February. It's only two days plus the weekend, so basically it's just a long weekend but it's so nice to get two extra days, you can get so much done! Well for this blogpost I just wanted to tell you what I've been doing during my holiday.

Wednesday night: After school I went to a piercing and a tattoo place with my friends and I got a third piercing and I love it and want to get more! My friends also got their ears pierced. After that I went to my dad's place (I always stay at my dad's place on Wednesdays, we have a complicated plan hahah) and watched Friends the TV show, I am obsessed, I watch it everyday lol. Then after a lot of laziness, me and my dad went to dinner at my grandparent's house. When I came home I went out and took a walk with my friend and we bought some crisps and watched the movie Princess Protection Program, which we loved when we were younger.

Thursday: I woke up late, had breakfast and watched Friends (again). Then in the afternoon I took the bus to my mum's house and set up a new shelf in my bedroom and did a bit of tidying up. Also finished reading Girl Online for the second time, I love that book! Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to buying number two.
I probably did a lot more that day but honestly can't remember anything-sorry!

Friday: Woke up early-ish and went to the gym. After that me, my mum, and my baby brother went to Ikea. There I bought a flower pot for my friend's birthday and my mum bought some jars for our kitchen. We also went to Habitat but we didn't buy anything there. On our way home we went to a flower shop, I bought three plants, two for myself and one for my friend (to put in the flowerpot I bought, I wasn't just going to give her a flowerpot if that's what you thought ) I got a cactus for her and a cactus for me and I also got a succulent for me. My mum also bought a plant.
When I came home I realised I didn't have pot to put the succulent in (they were all out in the store and my mum thought she had one at home but there wasn't anyone big enough) so I was just going to keep it as it was until I got a pot.
After all the shopping I got ready because I was going to the theatre with my dad and my cousin, and after that I was going to a birthday party. I decided to wear a denim dress from Levi's and my Truffle boots. The play we saw was Robin Hood and it was very nice and quite funny as well.  The birthday party was also fun although I was a bit late because of the play. My friend really liked her cactus. Went home to my dad because he lives beside my friend.

Saturday
: Woke up and watched an episode of Chicago Fire that I had missed. After I got ready my dad and I went to look at doorknobs for our apartment because ours don't look to great. When we were done my dad drove me to my mum's and my friend picked my up from there and we went down town.  Me and my friend walked downtown for about three hours, we went to bookstores, a flea market, a place called Reykjavik Chips which serves the best chips(fries), and then we walked to Harpa, which is a music hall in Reykjavik, and I took some pictures.
When I came home I ate dinner and had a night in with my mum.

Sunday: Woke up and had the chai overnight oats and chia seeds I made the night before. My gran then came to visit and we had lunch. Then we went to a flower shop, because my gran wanted to get some soil and other things, which was quite convenient because then I could buy flowerpots. There were lots of orchids there and they had baby ones that were sooooo cute! They also had a few birds and my brother was very exited about them. When I came home I planted my plants into the pots and baked chocolate cupcakes. While I was baking I was in a really good mood and some great songs came on the radio, including With Or Without You which I love and it always reminds me of Friends, Friends fans you know what I mean. After that I wrote this blogpost sooo overall this weekend was great and I had a good time!

Thank you so much for reading this rambly post (sorry 'bout that), be sure to leave a comment if you liked it. Love you all <3

Ten facts about me

Hey just a short post, I thought you might want to get to know me better so I made a list of ten facts about me. Hope you enjoy this post :)

  1. I am born on April 5th 2000.
  2. I live in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.
  3. I am obsessed with Friends, the tv show, and have been for a long time haha.
  4. I have a cat and a little brother.
  5. I love photography, baking, spending time with my family and friends, and being outdoors (especially in the summer).
  6. Icelandic summer nights are the best thing ever, along with wool sweaters.
  7. I started this blog in 2014 but wasn't very active last year. My goal is to get 5000 views.
  8. I really like reading, school, and learning.
  9. I love travelling!
  10. And finally I have a love-hate relationship with the sea. I find it very calming and love being on the beach but at the same time it's quite creepy because it's so big and dangerous.

Seaside Walk

Hello everyone,

for this blog post I just wanted to share my day with you.

Yesterday (Wednesday) we had this day called Öskudagur or  "Ash Day" in English. It's similar to halloween, which we don't really celebrate, you dress up in costumes but instead of going to homes and saying "trick or treat!" we go to shops and sing for sweets.
When I was younger I used to take this day very seriously, me and my friends would plan our costumes months ahead and put a lot of effort into them. Then after school we used to walk downtown and go to EVERY shop down town, they are probably around 400/500 and when we came home we had a whole backpack of sweets. It used to be my favourite day of the year.

Since I'm turning 16 not many people in my grade dressed up yesterday but I wore my reindeer onesie. After school me and a few of my friends went to all the shops in the neighbourhood and when we were finished we had quite a lot of caramels, lollipops, and chocolate bars. Yum!

When I came home I watched some tv and ate some of the sweets. But because the weather was so good I asked my dad if he could come home early and take a walk with me, which he did.
We took a 50 min walk along the coast in the nice weather and I was able to take some great photos. When we had walked about 4.2 km we stopped at a restaurant called Nauthóll and had a nice dinner with my grandparents. But wow it was soooo expensive so if you're travelling in Iceland I wouldn't recommend it, even though it's by the beach and has a lovely view, you can get just as good food but just at a way more reasonable price at many other restaurants. Despite the ridiculous prices we had good food and a good time.

It was a very good day that I'll remember for a long time.

Here are some of the pictures I took. (Sorry for the bad quality, I didn't have my camera with me so I had to settle for my iPhone 4)
